What legal authority do we have for stopping Iran from having nuclear weapons? Did they sign a treaty? Iraq signed the cease fire agreement which precluded it from developing or acquireing WMD. What did Iran do?

Iran signs up to nuclear checks

Iran signed the Additional Protocol to the 1968 international nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headquarters in Vienna.

The US signed the Geneva Convention and broke them, the same goes for the human rights treaties which were broken. The US must start with the international treaties broken by itself before they critize any other state and until that happenes the US has no right to point out another states shortcomings when it comes to any treaties.

Yes, Iran did sign the treaty and allow inspectors in their country. Why would they have done that if they were going to make nuclear weapons and knew that it would be found out? They could have just said no to the NNP treaty like Israel.

And since the US is so concerned about other countries than itself having nuclear weapons, why isn't she urging Israel to sign the treaty?

And therein lies the problem: the US needs to be resolutely UN-concerned about other countries having nuclear weapons. Let the rest of the world worry about it. We certainly have enough power to destroy any nation that uses them against us. As long as we have the will and the resolve to strike back without reservation, I have no problem with the US ignoring the rest of the world's desire to have nukes.

A nuclear war cannot be won. US will also be destroyed (in conflict with a major power, that is)

A) Never said that a nuclear war could be won.
B) The major powers already have nuclear weapons, we're not too concerned about that now are we?

Why? Are the only imperial nations to ever exist getting antsy for more wars of conquest?
