religionism is real simple. he does not follow gods laws as we are and is still living happily, that cannot be to gods likening, so we will punish him to please god.
the bible has a lot of ugly threats against those, who would not follow gods laws.

After Muhammed's efforts to convert all Jews and Christians to Islam failed, the sura "Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). Qur'an 7:163 says that God told a group of Sabbath-breakers living by the sea "Be ye apes, despised and rejected" to punish them for breaking the Sabbath. This verse (interpreted to mean that they were turned into apes) is sometimes used by hostile groups to mock the Jews, on the grounds that these must have been Jews, since the Sabbath is a commandment which (according to Islam) God demanded of Jews but not of his other followers. Interpretations aside, people use the Quran for their own means.
I dont claim to be an expert, but dont jump at the conclusion that I am ignorant on the subject.

I would have to agree that any law that hampers or diminishes a man´s right to free speech should never go into place, as it is unconstitutional in most standards.
People are free to think whatever they want, and say whatever they want. The few cases where that speech might infringe on other people´s rights is already covered by every penal code in Europe. It´s called sedition, or incitement to violence. Supposing some nazis start preeching how nazism was marvelous and shit, they are within their rights to do so, just as i am when i say that capitalism sucks bigtime. But if that same nazi starts to ad some "kill the jews" slogans to his speech, then he is infact inciting violence, and can face jail. There´s a fine line separating both, but it´s there nonetheless.
The same goes for signs and symbols. There´s nothing wrong with showing a swastika. However, if below the swastika it has something written in the lines of "kill the jews", then obviously it should be banned. I guess a lot of it depends on personnal interpretations. I might interprete that sign as harmless, while as the next guy might think it´s anti-semitic. But then that´s why we have judges, isn´t it? To judge and interprete the significance of the sign for us!
Often we forget the rights of the people who profess not so popular views, wich is why man created laws and guidelines, to protect the rights of the minorities, just as it protects the majorities.

Btw, the Bible is one of the most hatread inciting texts ever published. It´s up there with Mein Kampf, if not even higher. The diference is in its phrasing and context, but the subliminar messages are definitely there. Religious texts are often the greatest hatread multipliers, simply because they cause all the major rifts between cultures.

God transformed these Jews into apes because they disobeyed His commandment and went to catch fish on a Saturday. These Jews inhabited a coastal city (refer to Chapter 2:65). The Qur’an says:

The interpretation of the expositors of the Qur’an is in full agreement with the content of these verses (refer to the Baydawi, page 14; Jalalan, pages 10, 11; Zamakh-shari, part 1, page 286). We also read the same incident in chapter 7:163-166 and in chapter 5:60 in which these Jews were transformed into apes and swine.

Even if we agreed that the Quran says so, so what? In Quran also the muslims who don't follow the word of God get punished. So it's punishments for everyone.

All in all the main message of the Quran is love, respect etc. Most of the hatred that is said to be in the book is due to the interpretation of men using the book according to their own agendas.
