Diablo is right on this, there isn't a war between Islam and the US. If there were, the US would have started with the Islamics within our own borders (we haven't and we won't).
The war that the US is involved with is betwen civilized nations and those who would intentionally target civilians (terrorists). This is similar to the war that many nations, including the US, had with piracy that eventually led to the near elimination of piracy. Note that the US is allies with many Islamic nations and some of them are actively taking part in the war against terrorism.

Exactly. We're just targeting terrorist groups, and it just so happens that most of the terrorist groups we're targeting claim to be Muslims, though they have a very skewed belief.

Eh, you just lost me there.
What's the misunderstanding got to do with the wars ?
Anywas, in reality as always. America as a country of power, wants to stay that way. So, it seeks things it could benifit from. For example, IRAQ = OIL.
Veintnam hello ? Don't even go there man. Forget it.

ofcourse

Operation Iraqi Liberation (O.I.L)

USA wants oil...and this is how they get it...its like a crappy game on a crappy console with a crappy story line which people "have to believe" because they are scared of the power.

Default Iraqi Oil

Umm, just out of curiousity, if all the US wanted from Iraq was oil, answer a few questions:

1) Why didn't we simply finish the job in 1991? As a side note, people said the Iraq=oil thing in 1991 too and the US didn't abuse its position back then.
2) Why did the coalition return sovereignty to Iraq?
3) Why, for that matter, did the US form any coalition if we wanted the oil for ourselves? A coalition would only complicate things.
4) Why are we paying such high oil prices instead of simply pumping oil out of Iraq as quickly as possible?
5) Why wouldn't we protect the Iraqi oil pipelines and production facilities better if all we wanted was the oil?

I don't think you can reasonably make the statement that the US is in Iraq strictly for Oil, because our actions haven't shown that to be the case.

Maybe I can't. But the US sure as hell didn't send soldiers to Iraq to make "peace" in the world. Let alone find the chemical weapons. Oh I'm sorry, there were no such weapons there were there?

Weren't there weapons? You have positive proof? According to the intelligence agencies of most nations (not just the US), Saddam had the weapons and had the ability to make more. There are many unanswered questions about these weapons including a huge truck convoy that traveled into Syria just before the war and mustard gas found in the Euphrates.

Personally, I'll wait and see for the final outcome, because, unlike you, I don't have any concrete evidence one way or another.

That said, the US went in because of Iraq's violations of the cease fire treaty, and violations of 17 UN resolutions. Violations that Saddam Hussein could have easily corrected any time over a period of 12 years. Of course Saddam chose not to. He would rather let his people suffer in poverty and endure an embargo rather than live up to a treaty that he agreed to.

Well Kerry thinks otherwise..and plus there is something else, its not exactly "USA" which is interested in oil, it is GB, and GB jr. comes back to finish the job and take revenge for GB Senior. And that is what is happening..
