Default DEADLY DAY IN IRAQ: 9 dead.

Who hasn´t saw the footage of Fallujah today?
I believe most US media had blurred out the most graphic footage, to protect sensibilities, but i saw the entire non-censured footage.
And there aren´t any words to make it justice...
With stuff like this happening every other day, it´s no wonder young US servicemen take their chances and go AWOL, over to Canada.
Who in their right mind would want to volunteer to serve in Iraq, knowing damn well that there is a huge chance they´ll be killed or injured. And at the very least, come out of it suffering from a bad case of "shellshock."
With the handover of power only a couple of months away, it´s pretty obvious even to the untrained eye that the conditions to do so aren´t even close to be achieved, any time soon...

These are weird times we are livin´...

By the way, the four "civilian" victims were actually part of a mercenary force, hired by the US to provide various types of operations. There are links to the CIA, and the SEALS teams. In view of this new data, it should not be considered that these were civilians, because they were armed and were active part of the combatant force.

The bodies are yet to be recovered, and the Blackwater company hasn´t released their names yet.

i'm sorry but I haven't really been keeping up on Iraq. Is this the most recent event where corpse (slained bodies) were dragged throughout the streets?

Yes, dragged and hanged from a Euphrates bridge. Most US media has blurred out the gruesome details, but i´ve seen the entire footage, with no cuts or blurred out sections.
This incident is somewhat reminescent of Somalia, when the somalis dragged the corpse of one Delta team member, when of the blackhawk incident.
Those images spurned the US´s withdrawel from Somalia. I wonder what these images will do today?
Reports indicate there were 4 vehicles, not 2, but 2 managed to escape while the other 2 were trapped. The vehicles were probably bullit proof, wich would explain why the occupants remained inside, where they were later incinerated when the iraqis set the vehicles ablaze.
But the question remains:
What the hell were they doing there, in a city where not even Saddam dared enter, and where the US army has no presence whatsoever?
And no rescue effort was conducted?

Very sickening and disturbing, my co-worker just showed me a video footage he was able to capture.

From the Resistance Forces' communiqué:

"...We hereby declare al-Fallujah to be a liberated city and warn the occupants against attempting to re-enter the city..."

Presently, the US forces lay siege to the city, having encircled it on the outside, and not allowing anyone to leave or enter after 16:00 local time

Fallujah is Iraq´s Sickago (Chicago), runned by mafias, clerics and warlords. It is known how during Saddam´s rule not even he would set foot in that town, leaving it pretty much in the hands of the local power figures. I wouldn´t be surprised if those mercenaries were there to make a hit on one of them or something in those lines. The US Marines have a big base nearby, with over 9.000 troops, but even them dare not enter it. Not even to conduct a rescue mission on some of their countrymen.
It is believed that over 25 million firearms exist in Iraq today, and you can be pretty damn shure a huge part of them are in Fallujah. I think a good comparison would be to compare Fallujah with Mogadischio, the market section. Getting in there would prove disastrous for any outside force. That´s why they prefer to lay "siege". They are running low on Blackhawks...

BTW, where did you get that quote from?

The US Army went back to Fallujah today, in several aerial and terrestrial raids. At least 9 coalition soldiers dead, dozens of iraqi resistence also dead.
Clashes in Najaf, Basra, Nassyriah, and Bagdad.
Four portuguese troops injured, several other italians also injured.
It seems today has been a bad day for the coalition...

Still checking latest news.
The total fatalities of the day´s clashes is yet to be accounted, but it mounts to over 15 deads.

I thought the reference to Somalia was funny as this would mean that the US will hightail out of Iraq as fast as they can. Somalia was the most miserable failure of the US/UN missions.

I would like to point out though that for no believing Muslim this behavior can be acceptable as the corpse is something respectable. This gruesome deed was not done by anyone other than totally messed up criminals.
