Default Bush asked $25 billion more for war

Yesterdays news but not a topic here yet so here we go:
1
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.j...7&section=news

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush on Wednesday asked Congress for an additional $25 billion to fund military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, breaking a pledge not to seek more money before the November election.

The White House had long insisted it would not need extra money until next year, but the surge in violence in Iraq and pressure from fellow Republicans forced Bush to reverse course. If approved by Congress as expected, the proposed $25 billion "contingency reserve fund" would become available to the Pentagon from Oct. 1, the beginning of the 2005 fiscal year."
1
Many have had the same thought as I did when I first heard this:
"Read my lips....."

Piece by piece all the negative issues concerning Bush's war campaign are piling up to such a huge pile of crap that I hope even the Bush supporters will see that the USA could do much better.

Meanwhile in the oval office...

George: "How much do we need?"
Donald: "75 billion. At least."
Dick: "We will never get that much"
Donald: "I know my friend. That's why we're gonna ask for 25 now, 25 in September and 25 in December after the election. After that it's a whole new year and a whole new budget."
Dick: "George...*ahem*...Mr. President, how much do you think we should ask?"
George: "Read my lips: We're not gonna ask for any more money before the election."
Dick: "......"
Donald: "But George......"
Dick: "Sir....."
Donald: "But we agreed....."
George: "HAHAHAHHAAA! You've been had!"
Dick: "What..."
Donald: *whew* "You really got me there George."
Dick: "Read my lips....funny stuff Mr.President."
Donald: "I actually thought there for a moment that you were gonna keep your promise. Had me scared."
Dick: "Me too. I think I crapped my pants."

$25,000,000,000?

Well, about 10,000,000,000 will be stolen.
5,000,000,000 will be wasted.
And, 10,000,000,000 will be paid to Halliburton.

There's a lot of zeros in that number. Probably more than Bush can count to.

There must also be a lot of things in America which would need those zeros more than the current regime's war campaign.

Not a problem at all as far as the country is strong in any point of view and you admit it so much that you have to buy them. In fact that stinking euro is so crippled by your clumsy European socialist economy that even higher rates will not support the Euro longer and your bankrupt countries will be sinking with your currency. You will ask for dollars in a couple of month, those that US produce for nothing today. I am just waiting to see when the rates go higher in the US because economy is overheating. The economy of the continental Europe is over estimated, especialy those of France and Germany.
In fact I suppose that this 450 million people EU is going to be less than 350 in a decade or so. We will get some 50 (most graduate) in North America, 50 won't be replaced due to lowets birth rate (this will change in the US if G.W.Bush remains president), some 50 will go elsewhere and some 50 illiterate will comme in Europe to replace the elder.
In fact the 21st century rivals of the US will be China, Japan (we will hear about them again soon) and India. EU will be first competing with Latin America and later with Africa. UK is the only EU country that counts today and the gap is increasing. Economic forecast expect UK to weight as much as France and Germany together in 2025. The British would be crasy to stay and help EU against their own interests. I am sure that the recent strategical deployment of the UK industry from the EU to the US will be completed with a big NO to the referendum about EU constitution.
Today I am just watching how much Canada counts against any of the big EU countries. I would say 2 time more than 20 years ago. When UK will join Alena the Alena zone will be a match to the Chinese controlled Far East.

the real problem is the skyrocketing cost of entitlement programs like social security, medicare and the new perscription drug benefit, that wildly exceed their projections.
medicare is already at a $30 trillion deficit even without the new permanent entitlement and social security at $7 trillion deficit.
