This game does not have bump-mapping. PS2 can't do bump-mapping. Hell, the PS2 has the same amount of VRAM as the N64. I'm surprised the textures look so good.

Finally. It's Sony's fault for making the hardware so difficult to develop for.

Actually, I think the PS2 CAN do bump-mapping, but I'd have to do some reasearch to be sure, and I'm lazy.
Anyway, the reason that Killzone looks so good is that the dev team has created an engine that makes models loose polygons as they move into the distance, ad gain polys as they get closer. What this means is that we get some great looking characters and textures and environments, but that it doesn't overtax the system.
ins to the omnia. sleep is for the weak.

That whole lose/gain polygon thing was done a lot with the Dreamcast. Especially in Graphically impressive games like MDK2 and Shenmue...
I really don't think PS2 can do Bump-mapping. If it can, please provide an example of a game that does.
Several Xbox and Gamecube games rely on bump-mapping, and even the Dreamcast (which has twice the VRAM of PS2) pulled off bump-mapping in titles like Soul Calibur.
