Looks like Square's foray into online gaming was more of an ofshoot of the Final Fantasy series than a whole new direction. Good. MMORPG's suck ass in the story department, and that's where FF has always shined (after the first game, that is).

Anyway, there's new pictures and details over at IGN, 1-up, Gamespot, and countless other sites. Looks like another evil empire needs to be taken down (Gosh, we have seen that since almost two games ago!), and, aside from a hero who looks more like a girl than even Tidus (an achievement, to be sure), the game looks solid. So long as he doesn't continually whine and complain about his daddy, I won't mind too much.

No details about the gameplay as of yet, but hey, let's speculate anyway! After all, that's what we're good at.

So, what do ya'll think of this new game? Think's it's a step forward, backward, or is FF marching in place with this one? IS Vann really a guy, and who else wants to see some more of those bad-ass lookin' chocobos?

Gay..Guy..Ga..I mean Vaan is definately uhhh...nevermind.

But the game looks quite cool. I think FFX was a test on the PS2, this will be like 7 or 8 were on the PSX (story wise at least), except for Vaan's...looks ?
