Default About Front Mission 4...

So like I bought this game a month ago, but after 30 minutes or so I put it down and went back to playing Disgaea. One of the main things that bothered me is the lack of people, just empty rooms. Is it worth another shot ? Am I missing something ? Any redeeming factors ?

Some robots beatin' the shit out of eachother. Although the story is somewhat interesting, I'll skip it for a while. Since a number of new games came (and will come) out that I want to play first.
