The thing about Citizen Kane is it told it's story in about 90 minutes, leaping from subplot to subplot, bits and piece of his life... but you never get to see him. You almost start to get to a point where his emotions are reginizable, then it leaps in another direction. The ending was classic, true, but I just don't see why nobody ever questions it's status as the-best-there-ever-was. Cause it's just not.
