For the most part, yes, anime is crap. The Japanese have the weirdest tastes imaginable. But I really like Cowboy Bebop; it has an actual plot, each person has a lot of character. Bonus = there's none of that flying robot or lil girls in skimpy outfits. Well...maybe one - but she's an actual character and no one brings attention to it.
