Default PlayStation 2 Price Drop?

There might be a few used PS2's that go up for sale after the holidays ... it could happen to appeal more consumers on their large market. However, if Sony was wise, I'd say they are doing fine as it is. People are buying PS2's and purchasing their games(and/or PS2 bundle packs) at the current price, so there's no reason to drop the price in order to increase sales. The question is never "When are they planning a price drop?", it's "Are hardware sales low enough for them to consider a price drop?"

It all comes down to business and marketing. Sony (Microsoft and Nintendo) are in this business to make money, not get videogames into our homes at any cost. If a higher price makes noticibly more money, they'll stick with it as long as they can.

What do you believe Sony should do in this situation during the holidays? If they lower the price too much, more peole would buy it, but a less profit would be made substantially over a few months; make the price too high, have less people buy them, yet have an adequete profit in order to sustain themselves; or be able to find the perfect price in which plenty of people buy them, and a decent (fair) price is maintained.
