Re: Dungeon Seige II
DSII--to the dismay of some of us--has reverted to a DiabloII save and
restart style. When you save a game and quit and then restart, you are
returned to the nearest city (or maybe the last city) to your save location.
You then must retrace from there (and monsters respawn so you will have to
fight your way back). This leads to a strategy--always try to advance to a
transporter before quitting the game--in fact, to be safe, transport back to
the city. Then when you restart you can swiftly return to your save spot.
Unlike DSI, I can't get DS2 paused and then return to the desktop, but you
may be successful in doing this. That is, save, pause (spacebar) and then
return to the desktop to do other tasks without actually quitting the game.
If I intend to come back to the game in a couple of hours, I save, pause,
and then turn off the monitor.
