I think this whole thread is pretty much based on something simple blown out of proportion.

Certain words and phrases, despite their original context - or because of it - we just become desensitized to them.

Hate isn't that strong a word to me. I don't know what your problem is.

When someone asks me how I'm doing and I reply with "I'm cool", that doesn't necessarily imply that the temperature is comfortable.
