I don't think you understand the way they think.
To them, dying with a bomb strapped around them, taking tens of innocents - or more - with them, is not for "nothing". To them, it's the most noble way to die. It is to die as a hero in the "Holy War".
As for them "running out" of terrorists...
Anyways... I hope that these acts of terrorism can be prevented or stopped in the future somehow, but I am not as optimistic as you are.
