Default The democratic reasons against gay marriage

If understanding why there is fuss about the topic is possible, it is harder to understand why this stuff is dragging so much.
This latency was usually explained by the poor level of integration of the people who asked for their rights to be respected.
But here homosexuals are often well integrated in the society, with good economical and political positions.

I'm missing the democratic reasons they are opposed not to enter their rights.
What are the sound democratically speaking arguments?

Thank you.
