Seems all like a waste of money. And the US justicial system seems te be influenced way too much by politics.
Do people get married by a church or by the state in the US? If it's for the state, what's the problem with gay marriages? It's only a contract arranging some financial stuff, etc. Contract, marriage, what's in a word. If it's for the church, it's a moral problem for each church, isn't it? not something for law or politics (apart from church politics).
Anyway, if it does not hurt anyone (else) why prohibit gay marriages?
