I have to agree. Iraq should've been allowed to develop whatever nuclear, chemical or biological weapons she so desired. The UN, and especially the US, should've stayed way out of it. The cease-fire was the UN's and if she didn't mind it being flaunted then so be it. Iraq obviously wanted and needed the technology the US could've provided for her, we should've sold it to her. Probably not the technology to guide missiles to another continent, but certainly the short range stuff - say enough to reach Israel, Portugal, and westernmost France.
We're missing a HUGE opportunity here with Iran. Russia, France and Germany (as with Iraq) are getting all the sweet deals. We could be making a fortune.
