I simply see that as a manipulation.
I suppose some officers are trying to help Kerry. This is as simple as that.
That theory is very simple.
First those movies are sent to the media.
Those soldiers (I'd say they are basic GIs) declare they have been ordred to what they did. Everything has been filmed and nobody is able to imagine why those pcitures are so well interpreted. Then the Bush administration charges their officers, but those claim that the Administration (Rumsfeld) incited them to do that. This is against for the media since officers should know what are the rules of war and the administration knows that too.
I wouldn't be surprised if all those stories prove to be exagerated or even fancy simulations... after election, whoever wins.
