That being the case, I think the real question is: Do we want someone running the country who is afraid to stand up for who he really is?
Kerry has tried to hide the fact that he's quite wealthy... well, his wife is anyway. Not sure how that doesn't translate to his being wealthy. He's tried to downplay his French knowledge and abilities. He's tried to downplay his anti-war/anti-soldier comments he made after VietNam.
It's basically as hypocritical as Clinton saying he smoked pot, but didn't inhale. Or that he didn't have "sex" with that woman.
Why can't our political leaders stand up for who they are? If you smoked pot, spoke French, did an intern, etc. why not stand up proudly and say "yep, I did those things"? I'd much rather have a president who you knew you could trust because he wasn't afraid to stand behind his statements.
Does anyone else have an issue with all this sidestepping and backpedaling that Kerry has been doing?
