And since the Daily Mirror isnīt reveiling their sources, no one can question the people involved. Until a serious investigation is done and the results made public, we have to assume these photos are genuine. Even if they do look "weird".

Yeah, one of the main things I wondered was about the B/W. It also looks like a synthetic B/W as well (not real B/W film but maybe a digital camera in B/W setting or post-processing) but who knows, there are a lot of factors for photos looking the way they do.
As for the validity, I don't think we need to assume they are genuine. Like I said, I think the real US photos are much worse than these photos so it makes these photos much less significant. Considering the added strangeness of the photos, I would think we should ignore them until they are proven to be authentic.
Faked photos are interesting in themselves though, aren't they? Who's responsible, guys who want to sell papers, people who want to further enrage arabs, people in opposing political parties, etc...

That's why I stated in my initial sentence that abuse is happening and that it is regrettable before questioning the photos. Otherwise, some self-righteous poster may try to discipline me for ignoring the "bigger issue". In any case, thanks for the clarification.
