That's a good question. I don't know. Have you noticed that if they ever do talk about these things it's couched as: "Rumsfeld refuses [whatever] to Gitmo detainees" or "Ashcroft firm on Patriot Act"? It's like these guys are operating all by themselves.
Since the legislators who signed the Patriot Act into law didn't even understand it, I wonder if the conventional media analysts can understand it.

I believe it, and that's why I don't watch it. Guys like O'Reilly make me sick to my stomach. I think CNN is relatively impartial in reporting what they report. Where they fail, I believe, is in situations like what's posted above; they just don't report it. Maybe it's not their fault. Maybe they just wait until somebody else breaks a story and then puts it on. Remember when CNN used to actually be the first place to go for news? When's the last time you ever saw breaking news on CNN?
