Yes, it was.
I thought it too, but then when i started reading the link i posted above, i learned otherwise.
The reactor 4 was kept closed under tons of concrete, but the station was rebuilt, and the remaining 3 reactors were kept working tiīll the year 2000.

I havenīt been able to find the article i read before, but the above links are enough to show how the plant was rebuilt and remained in operation untill late 2000.
