The difference between these two is that if people HAD to, for some reason, "murder," of course it would be better to murder in smaller numbers. Person A has the blood of 20 people on their hands while Person B has 10 people's blood on theirs. Of course, neither can be said to be just, however, Person A has killed 10 more people. For those 10 people (Aparently equatable with farm animals, although I hate this anology) it DOES matter. Those are 10 people who now no longer get to live.
Gah. Also, the point is animals used for slaugher suffer their entire lives, while animals killed in wheat fields suffer for a few seconds. It's still terrible, but is almost unpreventable. This also adds to the anology that Person A tormented all 20 of his victims for their entire lives, since their birth, before the murder. Person B picked his victims randomly and up until their deaths, had lived free, natural lives.
