Eddie, you don't know how to do borders?!
If you're doing rectangular pics, which you seem to always do(as do I) just hit Ctrl and A to select the whole pic, make a new layer, then go to Edit->Stroke. Put 1 pixel, and usually black. But always 1 pixel.
