The Atkin's diet is the one that you avoid carbs on, right? You aren't supposed to eat a lot of bread and stuff like that. If it is, my sister's bf was on that and he lost a lot of weight, although he wasnt that heavy to start with. There was a noticeable difference in a few weeks that his face had thinned out a lot. I personally wouldn't think not getting bread and some other things wouldn't be good for you, but it may be good to loose weight, then keep the weight off with some other system of eating right. I'm not a doctor though, and it must be pretty safe since it is still being used.
