My picks might suprise you actually. I'm a huge Zelda fan, but the Wind Waker doesn't make the top 3. I think it's a great game but unless something changes dramatically before I complete it I don't think I'll call it a game with the likes that I'll mention here.

1. Metriod Prime - Some people flame this game and I don't understand that. I though the first person perspective made this game better, not worse, than if it was in the third person. It's a unique, increadably atmospheric and exciting game. Great puzzles, great exploration, and maybe the most satisfying boss battle I have ever played in a game.

2. Halo - It was a toss up for me between 1 and 2. Halo is the best pure first person shooter ever (yes even better than Goldeneye and Perfect Dark). The game is satisfying to play many times over. Also a very solid mutiplayer mode to go with it.

3. Grand Theft Auto 3 - Why 3 and not Vice City? Well 3 had more of an impact on me. While Vice City would be the better game to buy for those that played neither, 3 is a game that was quite revolutionary indeed. Playing a criminal and working for criminals became funner to me than I have ever known.
