At around 9 PM in Baghdad, US forces began literally, bombing the hell out of them. If you haven't seen it on TV yet, CNN and MSNBC have really great coverage, repeating the airstrikes. This operation is called "Shock and Awe," and I think it worked. The Pentagon and the White House both had briefings this afternoon, with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Gen. Myers at the Pentagon, and some other guy at the White House.

Many more targets are expected to be hit through the remainder of the day.
