US artillery has begun firing on Iraqi troops in southern Iraq.
Sky correspondent Ross Appleyard said the Americans in northern Kuwait had opened up with what sounded like a "huge barrage" onto troop positions in southern Iraq. Hopefully they are trying to take control of Basna in the South to gain it's oil refinerys
