AIDS kills far more people than one specific kind of cancer. When we start getting cures for cancer, they'll come one at a time. For example, just because you can cure skin cancer doesn't mean you can do a damn thing about breast cancer. AIDS, though, once cured, will most likely have a common cure.
No, Darth isn't being stupid... I agree with him on that. Teenagers aren't really even the ones spreading AIDS, mostly... Most teenagers do not have AIDs, as if you get it from a parent, you likely get it young. So you would have to have sex with older people who had it to get it.

Actually, there isn't just "one" AIDS, as the protein that tricks the body into producing antibodies can take probably something like 50 or so different forms that, in terms of vaccine and prevention, would have to be addressed, as the AIDS virus is unique in that the standard method of prevention in vaccine, would simply be to introduce derivatives of the virus in order for the body to produce antibodies that could destroy the harmful proteins that are produced in RNA forms, but AIDS can create innumerable different amounts of proteins, which can thus destroy those antibodies. It is effectively armed against Human virus protection.
