in the end.. the government is only trying to remain as unbias as possible, even tho we all know thats a crock of shit for both sides of the spectrum.. (they're basically trying to cover thier ass)

also there is nothing bad about having a debate, even if respect is there.. the only thing I said about your post is that it came off ignorant.. note that I didn't say you were ignorant.

My question for you is, is that necessarily fair? Does the U.S. government owe everyone in the world a fair chance at getting a job over its own citizens, or given everyone money and a place to say simply because it is the most economically adequate country in the world. Does the U.S. government owe immigrants anything, and furthermore, is the United States budget made to support thousands of illegal immigrants who flood the borders by nightfall. A budget, mind you, that comes from years of citizenal taxing and securities sold over time. I understand the plight of your father when he came here, through what I imagine was a legal process, and he, in the existentialist sense, made a new life, and made his own life. Seeing as he is a professor built up from nothing, I can only have great respect for that, but what about the other people who come into a country, not taking the time and effort to learn crafts and languages essential to not only the American culture, but to its economy. Is America suited to needs and wants of those who find themselves underprivileged. Is the U.S. obligated as a wealthy n ation to pull everyone from third world countries in Africa into the United States simply because of their inability to function like you do.

If I were to answer this, I would tell you that the United States owes nothing to anyone but those who have given it something in return. Those who take the time to learn and understand the culture, and those who pay their taxes, just as others do, through the means that they were given by genetics.

You might call me egoist pig, self-righteous and close-minded, but my family was in the same position as many immigrating families in the United States today. We have opened our borders, now its that family's turn to make a use of that opportunity. Welfare is in appropriate, especially for nationals, and I would venture to say for immigrants as well. The U.S. is not some buoy for everyone to run to, a shelter for those who feel that they are mistreated, and a protective blanket to hide people from the cold. I've seen the consequences of places in the Middle East, Cambodia, Vietnam, and I'm truly sorry that the world is not fair. But simply put, it is not, and there's nothing that anyone can do about it. There are slums in the United States, so of course there are slums in the rest of the world, even to extents far greater. I hope you understand where I'm coming from with this. If I were going out on a limb, the way some people push and push for immigrants to get civil rights and minority programs for their own benefit, is more or less reverse discrimination. Don't get me wrong, I'm Italian, so in some parts of America I would be considered a minority, but I feel that you cannot ignore the majority of people in a country, in this case the Caucasion, for the benefit of those who aren't even citizens.

Here's a little disclaimer : I'm not trying to start anything, and I didn't mean to be offensive if I was. This is all for the sake of debate, that's why I hope everyone understands when I take all the time to say these things. I try to put a lot of thought into this so that I don't make myself, or you look stupid. I know that race is a very touchy issue at times, and I don't want it to explode.
